I love all the flashbacks in the end when Malthus & Hilda meet 4 years later, and Madame Janete's prediction "What God marks - no one can erase" is a perfect fit for these two and their crazy journey to love and happiness. Wish I could see a flash forward, but in a way I also feel content in not seeing it too. Enjoyed sharing this experience and watching it with you all too xx
Same, I kind of find it more magical that it ended this way, with the shoe again. It would be a bit boring and way too basic if they made that standard ending with them simply getting married, even though some part of me want to see that, too, but I overall think this kind of ending is very pleasing.
That was huge surprise to me, especially because Alves was bashing her always from the beginning, first for being rich girl, then for liking Zico (that part makes actually sense and made me wonder about his feelings about Zora, I thought maybe he was jealous of Zico, if he liked her even back then). I wonder how they got close after everything.

I wanted to see Hilda and Malthus happy together :((( I wanted them to go to Rio and be happy :( why didn’t they try to find each other during all that time? And why did Malthus get arrested? How did he escape? Ugh I just wish we got more closure. I’m glad they found their way back to each other eventually though. I’m so sad this show is over😭😭😭😭
the sad thing is that in the book, hilda and mathus werent meant to meet again as malthus being captured meant he had passed away, so I think this was the directors choice of changing the ending.
When I came across the edited video of the series on Instagram and searched for the translated version, I thought I would not find it. It looks like he’s been waiting to see her again for a while. It worked out for the best because God knows best! At the end he did save her, she didn’t marry a man she didn’t marry and she left the red light district with her conscious cleared, he got his miracle. Even though they suffered a bit, with faith it’s all worth it

At first, I thought a lot of their feelings were just lust over someone forbidden, but in the end where they were no longer Hilda Furacão the harlot and Friar Malthus the saint, those feelings were STILL there with nothing to hold them back anymore... You'd think she would've never forgiven him for what he did that last day, but when they reunited, she was just so happy to see him again... UGH!!!!! All those years of pining together AND apart is already a start - what more when they can finally get to know each other and start anew? I think the ending was the perfect amount of ambiguous and optimistic! GREAT show. Thank you so much for translating!!! <3<3<3 I'm going to cry now lol :3
The last episode felt kinda rushed tbh..like I wanted hilda to share the reason why she went to red light district, I wanted to know how things turned out between her and her parents after, did she ever meet her parents again and they forgive her, how did Malthus mom feel about him leaving sainthood, Why did Malthus end up in prison and what happened in those 4 years for him and hilda, so many things we could have seen in the last episode.
However I'm glad the series ended with the 2 lovers meeting again after a really long time. It wasn't the ending I hoped for but I'm glad the series ended that way. I like to think that since hildas fate foretold by that fortune teller happened she is happily married now with malthus and they are living their best days together ❤️ 💖
