I think she does it for the same reason that Lolo stays with Ventura. She talks a lot throughout the show about how she resents being poor, working at a pharmacy, how she doesn't think MC could like her because of it. Whatever you say about it, the reality is that being married to an upper class man meant an easier life: less work, better quality of life, nicer stuff, more glamour. She just didn't realize that when she was dreaming of romance it wasn't because she wanted love, she wanted someone to whisk her away to that better life. It was a deal with the devil and definitely not the right thing to do, but not everyone can be Hilda Hurricane, some people just stay because its easier than leaving.

In the defense of Gabriela. She was literally sweep up in some drama because of Aramel ( predatory job) and MC ( to much of a coward to be truthful). She had to completely relocate, quit her job so who knows if she will be able to come back from that financially. Now she is questioning whether or not "love" is worth that and its not. And given the time period .. also she probably aware of Tonico rapist tendencies on young woman and he is persistent at least it'll feel like she had a choice if she agrees to it ( out of survival).

Padre Nelson has grown on me so much since the beginning of this show. I don't agree with any of his religious or political views at all but deep down he's just a softy with a passion for his community and he's hella funny too.
True. I hated him so much at the beginning, but in the recent few episodes his character actually became better and we got his backstory which explained better his point of view. That is why he is starting to show better understanding and compassion towards Malthus and his love for Hilda, he is becoming much softer.
I'm so impressed with Roberto, taking care of everybody all at once while participating in the communist movement and doing his job at the paper. it's so much for one guy and yet he hasn't complained once! I need to see him get married to Bê ❤️
