I know, right??? She is so complicated! She should have left the business the moment she thinks she's in love with Malthus. Otherwise, she's physically cheating. And let's not kid ourselves, if we were Malthus's mother, we would have dragged Hilda away from Malthus by her hair given her history. Her ex-boyfriend killed himself due to heartbreak for refusing to marry him (even tho we can all guess she wasn't forced to be in that rs) and humiliated her ex-fiance on their wedding day for no reason at all when she had all the opportunities to call off the wedding before. Malthus' mother didn't know all that, had she known, that pep talk she gave Hilda at her brothel room actually was too lenient of her. Hilda has to come to her senses and cease this self-inflicted punishment because honestly, girl, your logic is all over the place!
